Building Schools, Transforming Lives

Sheltering the Future

The dilapidated school buildings reveal the lack of educational resources in rural East Africa. Classrooms are either built with thin metal sheets or framed by branches and plastered with mud. In some cases, they don't even have school buildings. All teachers can do is teach under the trees.
In addition to transforming the unloaded, empty containers into classrooms, the Container School Project structures are also built with locally-made bricks. In this way, we provide a safe and secure environment for pupils to study, creating a better tomorrow together.

Container Classrooms
After delivering supplies, Step30 repurposes empty shipping containers into new classrooms, offices, dormitories, and medical centers. These sturdy and safe spaces encourage children to attend school, giving knowledge the power to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future.
Brick Classrooms
Step30 builds stronger, more comfortable classrooms with locally made bricks, providing schools with durable spaces where children can learn safely, sheltered from wind and rain. Each classroom becomes a place to nurture hope for tomorrow.
Learning Materials & Training
Step30 provides desks, chairs, and teaching materials to improve the quality of education. We also equip teachers with training to ensure resources are used effectively in the classroom. Schools further offer health education, computer skills, carpentry, sewing, and other vocational training, giving children the tools they need to step confidently into society.
